As one of the oldest and most prestigious institutions of higher learning in the United States, Yale University is always in a mode of continual improvement. This strategy is intended to yield the highest value for each dollar invested in the university. When it comes to preserving its architecturally significant buildings, the environmentally sustainable aspect of each structure is a viable path to the continual improvement of the entire campus. The Dolphin System ™ is playing a role in contributing to this goal. The Dolphin's high performance, environmentally friendly, and cost-justified technology has been applied to Yale's Music Center and skating rink thus far. More applications are planned for the near future.

Dolphin System Up and Running at David S. Ingalls Rink
The Dolphin's application at the Ingalls skating rink is another example of continual improvement on the campus-in this case, one of the most distinguished collegiate hockey facilities in the nation. Dubbed the "Yale Whale" because of its hump-backed roof and arching, 300-foot backbone designed by the highly regarded architect Eero Saarinen, the design depicts the grace involved in skating. In this case, the Dolphin System not only contributes to improving the operational performance of the rink's refrigeration systems but also supports an environmentally sustainable future for a historically significant structure.
