"The Alcoa Corporate Center is state-of-the-art all the way-even down to the electrically charged water purifying system that keeps pollution out of the river."-Pittsburgh Post Gazette, September 18, 1998
Besides its cost-effective attributes and superior performance, Alcoa's use of the Dolphin System has prevented a large quantity of chemicals from entering the environment. Using the Cooling Technology Institute's generic estimating formula and applying it to the Alcoa Corporate Center cooling tower system for 3 years, more than 1,000 gallons of biocide were not released into Pennsylvania's air and water. In addition, no corrosion inhibitor nor anti-scale agent was used and therefore not released.
